NIOS is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It provides flexible Open and Distance Learning at OBE (Open Basic Education, 1st to 5th), Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) levels.

Secondary Course (Class 10):

Admission remains valid for 5 years from the date of registration. They can attempt 9 times.

Yes, students can choose subjects as per their interest and eligibility guidelines. Students can pass the NIOS examination without Maths and Science too.

Yes. Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) are part of the evaluation and must be submitted before exams. Study centres guide you in detail regarding this.

Results are generally declared:
• June (for April/May exams)
• December (for October/November exams)

PCP are optional guidance classes conducted at study centres for academic support, they are carried out once a year at the respective study centres before the final examination.
